Painting by Mike Mate of the Sherwood in 1947. The Robin Sherwood was a United States Maritime Commission C2-S Type Cargo Ship. She was used as a Troopship during World War II. Troopships were operated by the Army Transportation Service, with "civilian" mariners; by the U.S. Navy; and the War Shipping Administration.
